Clinical Enrichment (Nurse Externship) Program
As a Clinical Enrichment Participant, you will be part of the largest Osteopathic teaching facility in the nation! Program Qualifications
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. Participant must be in the last two semesters of the nursing program. Interested students must complete the Oklahoma State University Medical Center application process, submit a current transcript, and provide two professional references.
Program Guidelines
The Clinical Enrichment Program allows you to work up to 16 hours per week. Any hours over sixteen must be approved by the Education Department. Students will submit a schedule of availability to the Education Department and all efforts will be made to accommodate hours and areas of choice. The Education Department will create a master schedule and all deviations from this must be approved.
Senior Nurse Tech
Don’t wait until you receive your registered nursing license to begin working. OSUMC has a Senior Nurse Tech program designed specifically for senior-level nursing students and recent RN graduates. There are full-time, part-time, and PRN positions available at OSUMC.
Residency Program
Do you want extensive training in your specific area of interest? OSUMC offers a nurse Residency Program for recent RN graduates and RNs interested in a clinical care change. A 8 – 13 week residency program is offered in Critical Care, Surgical Services, Med/Surg, and Cardiac Telemetry.
NCLEX
Nursing students or recent RN graduates who have committed to joining the OSUMC team will receive the NCLEX review course at no charge. OSUMC pays your fees..
Scholarships
It pays to start early. OSUMC offers scholarships to nursing students who commit to working at OSUMC following graduation. Scholarships are valued at $1500 a semester, with a five-semester or $7,500 maximum. Scholarship recipients must maintain a 2.7 GPA, through a work commitment upon graduation and licensure. Scholarship recipients must work six months for every semester under scholarship.
