Does your babysitter know how to handle emergencies? Are they a “safe sitter?”
Do they know what to do if someone is choking? If not, we can help.
Thousands of young adolescents across the country have been trained by Safe Sitter® to handle life-threatening emergencies. During the course, students will receive hands-on practice in basic life saving techniques so they are prepared to act in a crisis. Children in OSU Medical Center’s class also receive helpful tips to make them more confident caregivers. They learn safety precautions, how to understand children of different ages, and even the business of babysitting.
The Safe Sitter Class will be available at OSUMC on Monday, June 11. The class is from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
This class will be held at OSU Medical Center Education Center, 744 W. Ninth Street.
Registration for the program, sponsored by OSU Medical Center, is open now. Please call 918-599-5999 to register or click here for more information.
The class fee is $60 and includes the following:
- A Safe Sitter Manual
- A Completion Card
- Goody Bag
To successfully complete the Safe Sitter® program, students must pass a written test to show that they have mastered the key concepts and understand the skills necessary to handle an emergency.
Our instructors will enjoy teaching your babysitter or babysitter-to-be and look forward to helping them understand the curriculum and pass the test with flying colors.
